How it Works

Because made-to-measure means nothing without a real fitting, we have made the final, online fitting session a core part of our approach. From the first moment to the last stitch, you are the center of our attention and care.

1. Place your order

Browse the collection. Take your time — this is a relaxing moment, no need to rush (unless you'd like to, of course). When you're ready, choose your piece and the style that's right for you, and complete your order.

2. Take your measurements and choose your lace

You'll receive a set of lace and lining samples to feel and test against your own skin, to make sure the materials you choose match your skin and eye colors. They arrive as two small bound sets — one lace, one lining — with a short video from us on how to test them. You’ll also receive a confirmation email with a link to the measurement form, and a video guiding you through every step. All you need is fifteen minutes, a little privacy, and a measuring tape in centimeters. Then send your measurements our way.

3. We sew your unique piece

Once your measurements arrive, we begin. Thank you for your patience while we sew, carefully and just for you.

4. We ship your piece

Your made-to-measure piece is sent your way, with a notification email the moment it ships.

5. Your fitting session

Together, in a personal online session, we make sure the fit is everything you hoped for — and discuss any adjustments. We're not finished until it fits you beautifully.

A few practical things, so there are no surprises


We'd rather be open with you from the start than surprise you later. None of this is meant to feel strict — it's simply how a small, busy atelier stays fair to everyone.

  • Please send your measurements within 30 days of your order, so we can honor it. (Life takes over sometimes, and measurements arrive much later — which gets hard to manage for a little atelier like ours.)

  • Because each piece is made uniquely to your measurements, it can't be returned or exchanged. Your fitting session is how we make sure it's right.

  • Your fitting session should be scheduled within 30 days of receiving your piece. During it, we discuss any alterations — always complimentary, within that window.

  • If alterations are needed, we'll invite you to ship your piece back (we cover the cost). When it returns to you, schedule a complimentary follow-up fitting, again within 30 days, so we can be sure it's exactly right.

Our Story

Our founder Fanette studied fashion in France at ESMOD. This is where she discovered the beauty of French lace. It is also there that she started grasping how hard the fashion industry was on anyone other than a size 0 female with perfect skin and in their early 20s. It is to make us all feel seen for the true beauties we are that Rue du Paradis was founded. What better than luxurious, made-to-measure lingerie to feel good in our own skin and bodies?

It is with this goal in mind that we have been developing our made-to-measure technique consistently since 2019. We first started online, then opened a brick-and-mortar store in Brooklyn, that we operated for 3.5 years before closing it to focus on our online presence. During these 3.5 years, we did not only sell bespoke lingerie but also offered lingerie making workshops (News 12 | Connecticut | Bespoke Lingerie Making Workshop Offers Lessons In Femininity Fierceness And Fabulosity). These workshops were an incredible experience not only on the human level but also in terms of brand development and immense brand visibility. Because we created quite the buzz with these workshops, we reached an incredibly wide audience and were able to perfect our measurement taking and pattern construction technique. Due to substantial demand for our workshops, we developed a way for our workshop customers to take their own measurements from the comfort of their homes, so that we would have the measurements ahead of time and prepare their made-to-measure patterns for the day of the workshop. We were able to see how great our customers were doing in taking their measurements themselves, because we would fit them at the end of each workshop, to make sure all was fitting correctly. It is this online measurement taking approach that we bring to you here. It has been tested and vetted and we cannot wait for you to be part of it as well.

Every piece in our collection is sewn only when an order is placed, based on each individual customer’s unique measurements. Once you purchase, you will receive a link to submit your measurements. We need to receive these measurements within 30 days of purchase. We then cut and sew your garment to fit your body precisely. No struggle to find a fitting bra anymore. Asymmetry? That is normal and we naturally take it into account.
