Where does high-end lace come from?

Nowadays, the most delicate lace comes from France.  It is called Leavers lace and is produced in two French cities: Calais and Caudry. That's why the French Lace Federation created the label "Dentelle de Calais-Caudry" (Calais-Caudry Lace). Generally, Calais produces lace used for lingerie, while Caudry produces lace that is more often used for clothing.
